The Magical Herd

The Rainforest

Ballimae turned out to be a young, gentle green mare. She was quite eager to meet you for Ashe had already told her stories his mother had told him.

After a barage of questions from both leagi, this one just stumped you.

"Do you really eat your children?"

It was Ballimae who'd asked that, and she'd asked with with a smile on her face and an innocent look. She was serious, and she wasn't bothered by it either, like it was perfectly normal for any species to eat its young. Ashe frowned, "I don't think I want to know the answer to that.

You tell him not to worry, that of course you didn't do that. Ballimae smiled more, "So that must mean you don't hunt and kill animals for sport either? I kind of didn't believe that one myself."

You didn't know what to say to that, but in the end you chose the truth, pointing out that not all of your species believes in needless death. Ashe then inquired if humans ever hunted leagi.

You explained that where you were from, there were no leagi, but after having seen the beautiful coats and horns and manes that leagi had in general, you suspected that humans would be very likely to hunt them if they existed.

"That's said," Ballimae said. "I guess we shouldn't go to your world then."

Reminded of some previous experiences, you pointed out that you'd encountered some leagi who were quite willing to hunt you, so it was equally dangerous for you here. The pair looked at each other and had to agree that what you said was also true. This may have been a fantasy world, but it wasn't a perfect world. Perhaps perfect worlds just couldn't exist, they'd be too perfect and would just collapse in on themselves...or eles everyone would die of boredom because nothing would ever happen.

"Let's go see Arrishan, she loves these philosophical discussions!" Ashe and Ballimae lead the way.
