The Hidden Mountain Pass

There were two cats right outside the entrance to the caves and you startled them as you came rushing out into the daylight. One looked up with curiosity, the other crouched down ready to make a run for it.

Seeing that you had no intent of attacking them, they relax and resumed doing whatever cat business they had been up to before your interruption.

Looking to one side you see another cat. This one was creeping up on you carefully, silently, and hadn't noticed that you had noticed him. He looked so intent on what he was trying to do that you didn't want to give away the fact that the ambush wasn't going to work. So you started walking away with him trailing you quietly.

A few moments later there was some noise behind you and quickly you jumped to one side to avoid the pounce. But it never came. Instead, it was your hunter that had become the prey. He squirmed under the paws of silvery male.

You laugh a moment and continue on. You'd only take a few steps when there was again a noise behind you. You peek a look behind you and now find that the silvery male was being sat upon by a glittering green female. She looked particularly proud of herself to be at the top of that pile of hunter cats.

Again you laugh and take a few more steps. Not suprisingly there was again some ruckus behind you. You turn just in time to see the two males and the female disappear, to be replaced by a pink female without a tail.

She shook out her coat and strutted off in another direction. Fascinating creatures these cats.
