The Magical Herd

You rub your arms as the wintry land never seemed to end. Orma kept glancing at you with concern, as if you would turn into a popsicle at any moment. Unfortunately you were unable to reassure her, since it felt like that was exactly what was going to happen. "I wish I could get you out of here faster, but I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with this part of the forest." You nod without speaking. You were afraid that if you unclenched your teeth they would start to chatter. And then you saw it, colour in the midst of all the frozen whiteness. You approached a pair of leagi cuddled together for warmth...no, love.

They smiled as you and Orman approached. "Greetings. We don't see many humans around here." A shiver sent a shudder through your body as you introduced yourself. "Oh, you poor thing!" the white female exclaimed, "You're absolutely frozen. Here, squish between us under our wings, that should help warm you up a bit." The male tolerated the intrusion with a smile, "I am Tef and this is my mate Ko." You ask what was the name of their Pri~erd. "Ah, we don't have one, its just the two of us I'm afraid. But we like it this way..." his voice drifted off as he stared into his mate's eyes. Definitely true love. Orma shifted uncomfortably. You were starting to feel a little uncomfortable yourself, not because of the warmth but because it felt like you'd become a physical wedge driving them apart. You force yourself to step back into the cold explaining that you really should be moving along. The pair nods. "The shortest way out is through there," Ko indicates a path. "May your journeys be safe."
