I thought nice, a tale of a kid with a telepathic cat, sounds interesting. But it was even more interesting when it turns out that the cat is being possessed by an inter-dimensional being (who doesn't much like being a cat, finding it gross to lick herself and poop and stuff). But from Maxime's point of view, this is wonderful, he's always wanted a cat and now he has one not just as a pet but as a friend to whom he can discuss an entirely different way of existing, learning about her world and teaching her about his. But this is a fickle friend indeed, and while her powers are useful, such as fixing Maxime's father so that he no longer has allergies, her influence extends much further than that and this is one possessive, lonely and powerful creature indeed. It was weird, at little creepy at times, but an enjoyable quick read. I hope Maxime is able to get himself a regular cat at some point since a life without purr is no life at all!
