WOE! SCREAM! MEOW! ...PURR? Join the hilarious and of course dramatic world of Linney the House Cat, as her webcomic antics are gathered into graphic novel for the very first time! This collection is perfect for cat lovers and Linney fans alike.
What if our cats could talk? Would they ask endless questions about why we haven't given them wet food...again? Would they scream greetings at the first sign of life before the sun even rises? Linney certainly will.
Have you met Linney yet? If not, prepared to be blessed! Lucy Knisley's online Linney comics are collected for the very first time in this gifty hardcover featuring the internet sensation, Linney. With all-new comics, this collection shows us just how amazing, and what a true gift, all cats are.

This book was so cute. I love reading books like these, seeing all the various kitty quirks, some unique the cat in the book but others instantly relatable. For example I've never had a dog come to visit my cats but I could totally imagine how their conversations would go, the dog wants to be best friends, the cat is like NOPE! The cat that wants to drink your water even if they have their own. Or has to stick their foot in the water before they drink. And yes, I've had a cat that would announce he pooped, or more dramatically, run down the hall as if the smell would chase him.
This book is also a little bittersweet, Linney is a 13-year old cat so there are some moments that were not exactly full of laughs. I've had three cats pass, its hard to give up your fluffer, especially when you've had one for 18 years. It was also extra hard to read that part last night because my current cat...well...he's a neighbour's cat if you scan his chip but he's more co-owned...or rather the other way around, he just showed up one day, checked out all the houses in the neighbourhood and decided to adopt both families, going back and forth between us every day. Anyway he got in a big fit and came to our house bleeding all down his leg and it was terrifying. Turns out he's ok, must have nicked a vein or something but wasn't much of a wound but after his owners picked him up I ended up reading the bit of Linney passing and I was practically bawling. I new my kitty wasn't THAT badly wounded, but just last winter he got a wound on his head that got infected and took about 6 months to heal, didn't want to go through that again.
But yes, cats do indeed go around saying "Woe", complaining about how hard their lives are, the dumb things us humans do, and how slow we are to get them what they want when they want it (and then when they have it they don't want it anymore). Cats are strange, wild, mysterious creatures, strong and graceful and elegant....except when they are being furry goofballs, falling off of chairs or zooming around the house bumping into things. They are a source of wonder and frustration and a lot of laughs and loves and purr.
So much purr. Makes all the rest worth it!
