Ever since the dragon leader boomed Now's the time, all the dragons flew away, leaving children to wonder where they went but also believing they still live.

I must admit it was hard to return this book to the library. I've been reading a lot of children dragon books these past few months and this is one of the few that I wish I owned for myself. The rhyme was beautiful, but nothing can compare to the gorgeous illustrations. The soft-edge pastels gave it such a lovely dream-like quality that was perfect for the subject matter, and the dragons themselves were magnificent creatures. A touching tale about loss of dreams and innocence and so indeed, where have all the dragons gone? But as long as we can imagine them, they will never truly vanish.
