Every day, Ah Bao goes into the forest to collect wood. One day he finds a shiny red stone and brings it home. It turns out to be a magical stone. Ah Bao discovers that when he puts the stone in the rice pot, the pot overflows with rice. The same thing happens when he puts the stone in his money jar. Coins overflow from the jar. Ah Bao, beind a kind boy share the rice and money with poor neighbors from his village.
Something else also starts to happen after Ah Bao finds the magic stone. It no longer rains. The crops are dying. The rives are drying up. Does the magic stone have something to do with the drought? Ah Bao dreams that a white Water Dragon can help save his village. But where is this Water Dragon? Ah Bao decides to find him and sets off on a great adventure.

As in many fairy tales of both the East and the West, Ah Bao finds a magical item that comes at a price. To save his village he travels the land, encountering various creatures in need. By helping each one, he receives a gift in return, one he will need to help him find the Water Dragon. The end however is an unexpected surprise.
The book is written in both English and Chinese with beautiful illustrations.
