Every morning a king finds his twelve precious white unicorns sleeping peacefully in their corral - with the golden chains that restrain them shattered on the ground. Where do they escape each night? The king id desperate to find out the truth about his unicorns. He will reward whoever solves the mystery with a prize of their choosing.
Among the villagers who come to admire these magical creatures is a young girl who becomes enchanted by the smallest, most radiant unicorn. She decides she will try to find out the unicorns' secret. Wil she ever uncover the mystery? And what will be her reward if she does?

This is a beautiful, magical tale with gorgeous illustrations that are a perfect match in style to the story being told. In a classic fairy tale style there is a challenge to be met, and a king that offers a reward to whoever can solve the problem, and an unexpected hero that figures out what all the stronger, older people have tried to do and fail. And this is because she has a kind heart and earned the trust of the unicorns who show her the secret realm to which they vanish even as the guards stand watching.
What little girl wouldn't want to find a world of gemstone fruit, fairies and of course unicorns. A truly enchanting book.
