When a Dragon Moves In
Bucket? Check.
Shovel? Check.
Imagination? Check.
If you build a perfect sandcastle, a dragon will move in - and that's exactly what happens to one very lucky boy on the beach.
The boy and his dragon brave the waves, roast marshmallows, roam the shore, and have a perfectly amazing time together.
But when the boy tries to share the news of his magnificent dragon, no one believes him. That's when the mischief begins. The dragon devours every last sandwich, blows bubbles in the lemonadte, and leaves claw prints in the brownies.
Is there really a dragon running around on the beach, or is someone's imagination running wild.
Fantastic color-splashed scenes celebrate summer, sandcastles, friendship and family in this roaringly good read-aloud.
When a Dragon Moves In Again
If you build a perfect castle, a dragon will move in, followed by...a baby?! Preparations are in full swing to welcome a new family member in this sequel to the award-winning When a Dragon Moves In.
The baby arrives, and the new big brother and his dragon dedicate themselves to entertaining the little guy. But when the older sister says there's no such thing as a dragon, frustration mounts and mischief ensues. And when that drooling, crying baby somehow charms his dragon, the boy decides he's had enough of this baby business.
Is there room in the castle for three? Decide for yourself...When a Dragon Moves In Again.
A fun tale of a boy and his dragon friend, only no one else seems to be able to see the dragon. And whenever the dragon does something naughty, the boy gets in trouble for it (though look closely at the pictures...maybe it is the dragon getting in trouble for the boy's mischief!). As an adult I enjoyed the subtlety of the images showing the dragon making trouble when you know it's really the boy who is being bad, but I'm not sure little kids will get it. Basically kids of that age take the stories at face value so will probably just accept the boy's claims since they can see the dragon in the pictures, and wonder why no one else can see the dragon, it's right there, silly adults!
The second book is similar to the first, but it is about the boy attempting to get used to the idea of having a baby brother that cries all the time and his parents seem to give all their attention to the newest member of the family. But with the help of the dragon he finds his baby sibling isn't so bad after all.
