Uni the Unicorn
In this clever twist on the age-old belief that there’s no such thing as unicorns, Uni the unicorn is told there’s no such thing as little girls! No matter what the grown-up unicorns say, Uni believes that little girls are real. Somewhere there must be a smart, strong, wonderful, magical little girl waiting to be best friends. In fact, far away (but not too far), a real little girl believes there is a unicorn waiting for her. This refreshing and sweet story of friendship reminds believers and nonbelievers alike that sometimes wishes really can come true.
Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True
The Land of Unicorns is in trouble -- it has been raining and raining for what seems like forever. This is a big problem because there are only three ways that unicorns can get their magic: from the golden sun, from magnificent rainbows, and from the sparkle of believing.
Luckily, Uni the Unicorn has always always always believed...that little girls are REAL. Join this very special unicorn and the little girl who believes right back as they finally meet and work together to save a magical land and all who live there!
Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Brigette Barrager reunite to revive this world glowing with possibility and hope that is the stuff of childhood fantasies.
Uni's Wish for Wings
Watching birds soar through the sky makes Uni want to fly! When Uni befriends a winged horse named Pegasus, it seems like flying might be possible. Uni's magic unicorn horn is good for helping others but it cannot make wings. Peg coaches Uni's creative attempts to make a set of wings. And it turns out that Uni can do some things Peg cannot do!
A cute tale of a unicorn, in a world of unicorns, that believes in little girls. The other unicorns laugh at her, and her parents just knowingly smile but Uni just keeps on believing, hoping one day to find the little girl and slide down rainbows with her. Uni even draws pictures of little girls and sticks them on her bedroom wall.
While in another world, a world of humans, there's a little girl being laughed at for believing in unicorns, whose parents just smile knowingly at her, and has unicorn pictures all over her bedroom walls. They never meet in the first book, but they never stop believing in each other, and hoping that maybe one day their dreams will come true...
Which is what happens in the second book. It starts raining in the realm of the unicorns and they lose their magic when there is no sun and no rainbows, but Uni keeps her powers due to her belief, the belief that little girls exist. And when both Uni and the girl wish at the same time, magic happens! They are united, the sun comes out, and they explore each other's worlds.
The artwork is cute, not gorgeous but with some nice bright colours.

I thought I'd dig through the library so see if there were any unicorns books published since I did that unicorn themed reading year back in 2019, and Uni is one that got a lot of additions in the meantime! The tales are meant for very early readers so the text is very simple but the stories are also very sweet with happy outcomes. Must admit I'm kind of fond of these.
