Ah...page one already turned me off assigning "rainbows" to the unicorn's butt when explaining where are the glitter and stardust and other things go. I'm very touchy where you take a wonderful magical creature and associate it with rainbow poop and glitter farts. Sorry, I'm wrong, in this book they poop tiny puffs of cotton candy (ewww...cotton candy is sticky). Unicorns are already amazing do they need to be made silly and humiliating and crude? Especially the poor one that looks like he's cotton-candy-constipated. I guess its supposed to be funny but other than the bright colours, the artwork, with badly drawn two-legged unicorns in these books didn't really make me smile. Maybe I'm a bit of a party pooper but just because little kids are small, doesn't mean they can't be exposed to something somewhat more elegant. I'm all for unicorns playing on rainbows and shining horns with moonbeams, that gives them a sense of magic and wonder, but watching them pull on golden pants and zebra shirts...what now? Why? Couldn't they go heal something, or purify a pool (there is a pool that they play in...but its a pool of glue and glitter, ick! Not that glitter needs glue to stick to you...) And apparently unicorns like to drink their own tears, gross.
