These books look physically really big, but they are indeed books for mini people. Once you open it up and see the GIANT font size inside it's clear this will be a quick read, even if French isn't your native language! They also have fun with the fonts, changing colours and sizes and shapes and mixing in images and other fun stuff. And I think they unicorns are adorable, a bit like those google-eyed My Little Ponies but of course are their own thing.

Each unicorn is associated with some sort of treat, whether it be a candy or a crunchy thing like a pretzel. The first book is about Jujube, who when she eats the candies from the rare white jujube tree (nicely called a jujubier in French, which doesn't work in English) she can become invisible. So she decides to spy on the trolls, since she doesn't like them much, in fact she's got a bit of a mean streak as she looks down on one of her fellow unicorns that believes everything people tell her, calling her a "noodle". She finds out that the troll daughter wants to have Jujube as a pet to reward her for having been the only troll to ever graduate from Kindergarden! Mayhem then ensues as the less than intelligent trolls try to satisfy the spoiled little girl's wishes. But of course things work out on both sides to everyone's satisfaction.

It's very cute and sweet, and sometimes silly storytelling, perfect for children around the age of five, I mean, I'm rather older than that and enjoyed reading this. I look forward to seeing if all the unicorns will each get a turn to have an adventure.
