There was something magical about the old mirror at the entrance to Aunt Zelda's gift shop. Rachel sometimes imagined she glimpsed a beautiful land in it - beyond the silver speckles.
Then one day Rachel and her brother Robert polished the mirror. A few minutes later, a little pearl-white unicorn leapt out of it in a swirl of star-dust. This was just the beginning of an amazing adventure ... Another enchanting picture book by award-winning author/illustrator Shirley Barber.

This book was on display at my library, so even though it was in French (they didn't have the original English version) I snatched it up since the artwork on the cover was beautiful. And I wasn't disappointed, the beautiful artwork continued throughout the book, with glittering rainbows and pure white unicorns with golden horns in a land of magic and fantasy. The evil wizard was defeated a little too easily but then this isn't a tale of battles but rather one of wonder and imagination. I would have loved this book as a kid and wished I had a magic mirror through which unicorns could come and go!
