Main Elements Dragons

A little dragon once tumbled from his cloud and fell to earth, landing with a thump in a soft drift of snow. Billy finds the lost dragon and comforts him until magnificent Mama and Papa Dragon arrive. Grateful to the kind little boy, the dragons grant Billy a wish. Soon he is flying through the clouds, romping under the moon with his newfound friends, and discovering the secrets of the stars.

With a charming read-aloud story and gorgeous illustrations of wintry landscapes, moonlit nights, and glorious dragons, this ornately decorated gift book will enchant readers of all ages.

As I exhausted the library's supply of English children's dragon books I started going through the French ones, and no, I don't know how Stardragon got translated into Snowdragon... Now this one was originally English and it's opalescent cover caught my eye. The beautiful artwork continues inside, with an appropriately sweet snow/star/cloud dragon (depends on language). The pages are those thick cardboard ones for very little kids, but they're embossed with stars and clouds and other patterns which is perfect for this book, with just a little touch of glitter.

The story is sweet too, a young boy discovers a young dragon that fell from the clouds. After helping him recover the dragon's lost shiny stones, the dragon's parents arrive and offer Billy a gift in thanks. He asks to see the home of the dragons and spends a marvelous day playing in the clouds with his new friend. A very beautiful book that is just magical to look at.
