Good luck!

I went a little silly in the library the other day, grabbing all the dragon picture books they had. I must say that by far this one had the highest quality illustrations. I don't know why, just because it is a book for little kids, the pictures have to look like they were drawn by those kids!
This one attempts to be a factual guidebook on the care and feeding of a pet dragon. It starts with a checklist to see if you are in a position to take care of a dragon, like is your house big enough, or are you insane. In fact, as I've been reading the entire Pern series by Anne McCaffrey I already knew dragons require a lot of maintenance!
The book is broken down by important topics such as "Dragonatomy" where you find out a dragon has three stomachs and some foods take longer to digest than others (like elephants). Or that they do have a brain, but it's puce-green, wrinkled and rarely used. There's also information on choosing and egg (make sure to buy only from a reputable egg-thief, you'll be able to tell since they still have most of their limbs)
The book can get a little gross at times though (the picture of mashed rats to feed your young dragon was rather disturbing) and there is a fair amount of poop jokes (well, what do you expect if you feed your dragon curry...), in the end I felt it took silly a little too far into disgusting. On the other hand, the thought of having to feed your dragon cute bunnies as treats might encourage kids to seek another pet...
