Volume 1
All pure-blooded vampire Hayan Park wanted to do was live a normal life. But the rise of half-bloods ten years ago transformed the world into a dangerous and frightening place-robbing her of her one true wish. Determined to return Korea to how it used to be, Hayan teams up with local police captain Euntae Hwang to wipe out the bloodthirsty killers in a tale of hot-blooded romance and revenge.
Volume 2
Hell-bent on revenge, Hayan tracks down Father Michael’s killer to the Red Bomb Club-the base for one of the angels of death, Luci. Alone, Hayan effortlessly unleashes her wrath on his half-blood army, but Luci himself? He’s a different story. Having been given the blood of a pureblood vampire called “God,” Luci is more powerful than any enemy Hayan has faced before...but Hayan is no easy prey herself, and she’s determined to protect her siblings and get rid of the threat, once and for all. There’s just one small hitch-detective Euntae has caught wind of her raid, and he’s headed straight over to arrest her!
Volume 3
It’s time for Hayan’s second fight against an Angel of Death! But Sahan’s hypnosis powers make him a much more formidable opponent than Luci-one wrong move, and Hayan will put the lives of innocent students at risk. And with Sahan leveraging the memories of Father Michael’s death against her, even Hayan’s pureblood prowess might not be enough to stop him...
Volume 4
Hayan and Euntae have beaten Luci and Sahan, but the enemy won't take their eradication lying down - it's time for the hunters to become the hunted. Up to bat is Angel of Death Ash, who can steal the appearance of others with just the brush of a fingertip. Her plan? Go on national TV disguised as Hayan and reveal that she's a vampire...
Volume 5
Hayan is determined to recover her missing memories if it's the last thing she does! And luckily, she's found a new lead - Yohan, her long-lost childhood friend. When Hayan approaches him though, he claims to have no clue who she is...?! Meanwhile, "God" has decided it's high time he paid the pureblood a visit. The mastermind vampire lusts for Hayan's heart - and he doesn't care who he has to kill to get it...!

We have here an interesting tale of vampires that can walk amongst us unknown, even during daylight, a plague that started just a decade ago. They are weaker by day, but it does mean people can't go out by night, and people are tired of hiding when the sun goes down. Most vampire are called half bloods, since they are made by other vampires but there are a rare few that are born that way. Hayan is one of those. A priest discovered her as a child and took her in, teaching her how to control her vampire nature so that she can go out and live amongst the rest of us humans.
Hayan is a wonderful character, kind and bubbly but also wanting to protect those around her, even at the risk of exposing who she really is. I also liked the priest, I mean how many Fathers can yank out a flame thrower from behind his back and take on an entire pack of vamps. Ok ok, there's quite a few of those in vampire hunting movies and books, but I still really liked him, especially as he's taking out those vampires to protect his own. And then there's the cop who suspects who Hayan really is, he's a little annoying and over the top but I'm sure he could grow on me. I've only read the first book so far so will see where things go!
As the series progresses it turns into those classic anime/manga bad guy of the week kind of thing, where the bad guy spends half the time talking about how amazing he his and how weak his opponent is and then he has to pause to wonder what the F is going on as he gets his butt kicked. And the twist on Euntae's background I had more or less suspected from the beginning but was still a fun reveal. The twists don't end when we discover who God is. This series can go to some dark places.
It will be some time before I get my hands on the rest of the series which maybe aren't even translated into English yet but I do enjoy it enough that I want to see what happens next. After all, once you wipe out all the other vampires and you're the only one left...what do you do with yourself? Once you vow to destroy *all* vampires do you include yourself? Guess we'll see!
