This duology was available from a book exchange so I figure, hey its free, might as well give it a go. It was utterly silly, but I found myself smiling at the ridiculousness of it. We have Sakuya who is not just the ignored kid at school but seems legitimately invisible. She makes a wish for friends and four boys appear, each one more amazing than the other, the heir to a corporate empire, a brilliant scientist working on a project to conquer space, a number one bestselling singer and a magician/chef (ok the last one is a bit odd, but he's even odder than that).
Now I was a bit confused, Sakuya is thirteen and the boys...they look nearly 20 (except the rock star who look 10). And they aren't just friends, they want to be more than that, in fact they are declaring their undying love and proposing marriage. Not sure if that's a thing that happens in Japan but seems 13 is a little young for that.
But if you ignore that, and can keep Shiki and Terui straight (they have similar hair styles/colour), it was a cute and sweet pair of manga novels and enjoyed the time I spent laughing. My main complaint, I had to read it in French and some of the expressions escaped me so I couldn't always follow all the jokes, nor entirely graps the nature of the curse.
