Volume 1
My name is Vladislaus Draculesti...
Having fallen in battle long ago, Count Dracula is reborn as a katana-wielding vampiress in an alternate-history Europe.
After the reincarnated Dracula rescues a girl name Clara from a mysterious stranger, Clara reveals that she is a golem fleeing from an organization called Cerberus, which seeks out "monsters" such as herself to create an army of human-monster hybrids. Clara begs the vampiress to flee with her to a distant sanctuary where the two of them will be safe...but as they set out for Monster Island, they sinister forces of Cerebrus are in hot pursuit.
A gory, gritty action manage featuring vampires, werewolves, mummies and other classic characters from the monster pantheon.
Volume 2
Having narrowly escaped being blown to pieces, Count Vlad squares off against the mercenaries known as Grace and Gramps. However, what began as a battle to the death takes an unexpected turn when the pair end up joining the band of travelers. Count Vlad soon stumbles across none other than the Justiciar, the man who had him executed in the distant past. The Justiciar then recounts the tragic story of his imprisonment and his son's death. Yet he may not have been entirely forthcoming, as Count Vlad and friends soon learn when they cross paths with a young assassin...
Volume 3
Vlad's battle against Camille nearly ended in disaster, but thanks to some quick thinking and a clever transformation, Vlad lives on to fight another day. Yet the Justiciar's trackers are still on the party's tail, and Monster Island remains only a distant rumor. That's when Vlad suggests a daring plan: The party will cut through the heart of the empire and pass right under their enemies' noses. To do so, they'll need some help from their newest ally, a mysterious nun who may be more than meets the eye...
Volume 4
Vlad and company have successfully infiltrated the imperial capital amid the bustle of the upcoming festivities. They then cross paths with an unlikely pair: a onetime soldier with a kind heart and a boy who bears a striking resemblance to the recently deceased Camille. Adding to the mystery, the army takes to the streets in search of a young fugitive—one who may somehow be connected to the Justiciar’s infernal experiments. As all the pieces move into position, Vlad’s grand plan enters a perilous new phase...

Whaaaat did I just read. This manga is all over the place. Ok first of all we have Vlad Dracula reborn as a katana wielding girl. Ok weird, but alright, need something to make it stand out from all the other Dracula tales I guess. But then things got strange.
First, how annoying is the "glance over the shoulder" Vlad is prone to doing. Once or twice was ok, but every second page it just got strange. And then the battles were like a stream of conciousness from a 5 year old - "Oh, and then BAM Vlad has wings now..and then and then...BOOM Vlad is now this scary monster thing with big teeth (the monster was kind of cool actually, except when Vlad stuck her head out from its mouth)...and then...maybe to save her friends Vlad can bring them all *inside* herself...somehow". The mummies keep yanking machine guns out of their arses. And the nun's boobs are so big I don't know how she doesn't face plant. Oooh, and finding out how old the nun is does NOT leave a single possibility of what kind of monster she is, there are a LOT of female Greek mythological creatures :P
Also the artwork is so dark and busy, and you jump from scenes so fast half the time I couldn't figure out what was going on, who got what body part chopped off. Very confusing at times, not that figuring out is particularly important since its just randomly all over the place anyway.
It had some good points I guess, but it was very very strange. It would work better for younger audiences except it has to be 16+ due to the extreme violence. I guess at this point I've read enough that I want to find out if the group makes their way to Monster Island but I won't go out of my way, will rely on the library for that.
