When a king discovers that there are still singing moon dragons high up on the mountainside, he offers a room full of gold to anyone who can bring one to him. The beautiful dancing dragons only reveal themselves to Alina, a young peasant girl, but she preserves the secret of their whereabouts, knowing that there are some things far more precious than a room full of gold.

The artwork in this book is amazing, beautiful pastel pictures, especially of the magical dragons. The prose on the other hand was ok, but it could have been more lyrical to go with the illustrations. In fact the king just came off as a little kid having a temper tantrum rather than an regal, but greedy monarch. However the little girl Alina is the star of this tale and she makes the right decision, to keep her finding of the dragons a secret, even though people laughed at her over it, to keep them safe from the king's clutching hands. May the dragons sing forever in our dreams.
