This is a lovely collection of 5 very different fairy tales. The funny thing about this book is that I remember it's smell. It isn't an unpleasant smell, but it is definitely unique amongst my books. The illustrations are beautiful, though the one with Sinbad and the Old Man of the Sea kind of scared me. I guess I didn't like the idea of having to walk around with an old man who wore nothing but seaweed on my back. All the tales are classic and they cover a range of the favorites, from middle eastern to european. Some of the stories I don't have in any other books. Too bad the credits didn't bother to list the illustrator, and the book is now out of print. But every child should have at least one beautiful picture book of fairy tales, so if not this one, definitely look for another!
