Two hundred years ago, humans vanquished the dragons of the islands of May. Now, the last of the dragons rises to wreak havoc anew - with only a healer's daughter and a kite-flying would-be hero standing in its way.
Master storyteller Jane Yolen and celebrated fantasy artist Rebecca Guay weave a textured and lyrical tale of adventure, homelands, and heroism the hard way.

I'm no expert in graphic novels, having read only a handful, but I really enjoyed this one. The artwork was beautiful, and as usual, Jane Yolen has written a wonderful story. Though intended for a younger audience, it is enjoyable for adults as well. As it's not very long, as graphic novels never are, I can't say too much without giving away, but it has a wonderful cast of characters that you grow attached to, even the "hero" who has more bark than he has bite but can rise to the occasion when needed. And of course the dragon, not your friendly Pernese bond-mate, nor would I call it evil, it's just a really, really big animal with teeth, claws, wings and fire, looking for something to eat.
