Georgie is happily playing when a baby dragon suddenly drops out of the sky! The baby dragon has been trying to learn to fly and now needs Georgie's help to get back to his mother, the terrifying dragon who lives on top of Far Purple Mountain! Georgie must put his fears behind him and escort the little dragon, who's even more scared than he is, safely back home - where Georgie is in for a big surprise...

A tale about a young boy who has to be brave for an even younger dragon. When the little dragon tries to fly but ends up falling near Georgie's home, Georgie needs to lead Galahad back home to his mother. They have to cross a river, and through a spooky woods, and jump over a scary gap between mountains. But the scariest thing of all for Georgie is meeting up with Galahad's mother! But even though there were tales of the fiery beast living atop the Far Purple Mountain, the flames of which could be seen all the way at Georgie's village, things weren't exactly as they seemed. And it certainly helps to have a sword flower to give one courage! I wasn't a huge fan either of the prose style nor the illustrations but they went pretty well together so I liked it in the end
