This was a lovely overview of the various fairies and other magical women out there. The artwork was beautiful and pretty. I haven't been able to find too many of these "non-fiction" documentaries on fairies in my library, and I didn't like most of the ones I did find, but this was a good one. It covered a wide range of fairies, including fairy godmothers, and Christmas fairies, though it also covered a couple of non-fairy enchantresses, mainly to explain how they were not in fact fairies though often associated with them.
I don't have too much more to say but this is a good book for kids, if only for the wonderful artwork kids will love to look at, and the brief introduction into the world of faerie. No, the darker Sidhe and their kin aren't really covered the focus is more on the benevolent kinds of fairies (though a few dangerous ones are mentioned to remind us to be careful in our dealings).
