The hunt for the unicorn is under way, for the Duke and his men are greedy for its magical horn. As the nobles ride off on their fine steeds, Tanisa, the exhausted serving girl, finally has a chance to rest. She awakens to two astonishing sights: a pure white unicorn resting his head in her lap and the Duke's son, whose arrow is poised to slay the beast. But the unicorn's eyes possess great powers. If the Duke's son dares to gaze into them, nearly anything could happen.

The moment one opens this book you know it's different than the rest. The artwork is hard to describe. At times photorealistic, at others surreal, the text mingles with the images, sometimes taking the shape of man, white on his black coat. Its a bit like a movie, the images almost seem to move. At times like a dream, distorted and almost scary. It feels truly magical and wonderous and nightmarish, and the unicorn was truly beautiful.
The story itself is about a unicorn hunt, and the innocent girl that unintentionally lures a unicorn to her, just as one the huntsmen returns having lost his horse. But a unicorn's horn can cure more than just a flesh wound, it can also heal a broken heart. This is a true fairy tale and not some stilly story of a sparkly horse.
