Main Elements Unicorns?

Bob is not a unicorn. His friend George knows that. So does Stella. And Ted, and Larry. In fact, it's definite: Bob is not a unicorn.

Or is he?

Bob is a Unicorn, by beloved author Michelle Nelson-Schmidt, celebrates both the power of imagination and the importance of always - no matter what anyone else says - believing in yourself.

Hmm...this books is certainly different. Firstly, the text and art is very sparse, basically Bob goes around asking everyone what they think he is, but they either think he's silly, or they are too busy for games. At least till he finds a fairy...kind of. But then Bob is also just a kind of unicorn. I thought I wouldn't like it actually, I've read quite a few books of various animals going around thinking or wishing they were unicorns, but this was done so differently, in fact you don't even see Bob till the very end (not telling you what he actually is!). Now I don't think I learned anything from the book (certainly not believing in one's self...after all going around saying you are a unicorn does not make you one no matter how hard you believe it, and Bob even says he's playing) but I think in the end, I actually liked it. I've read a LOT of kids books this year, and last year, and this one kept me guessing until the end too, so it definitely had at least that going for it.
